Ballad of Thuriana is a turn-based tactical RPG for the PC (Windows, macOS, Linux and others) that puts the player in control of a band of warriors in an uprising against a powerful Empire in a medieval fantasy setting. Players will find allies, learn new skills, acquire weapons and equipment, build a party and test their tactical skills against the seasoned Imperial army.

My primary inspiration for BoT is Shining Force, the 1990’s tactical RPG for the Sega Genesis/Megadrive. After two successful titles on the Genesis, Sega released three for the GameGear handheld, two of which made it to the US. These two were later released together on the Sega CD as enhanced remakes. Shining Force 1 also had an enhanced remake release on the GameBoy Advance. Unfortunately, after these there were no more Shining Force games that retained the gameplay of the original. When I finally decided to build my own video game, I knew what I wanted to make.
